Just read the bad news over on Lloyd’s blog that the bid for a Collaborative Research Centre in Assistive Technology for Australia has been rejected.
The letter from the CRC selection committee cited in part:

This leaves Lloyd asking “Is Australia doomed to be an importer in AT?”
Another kick in the guts for people with disability in Australia.
